Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a dedicated team member to create outstanding customer experiences in the department. You will assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals while upholding safety and quality standards in a fast-paced grocery environment.

You will answer questions, stock merchandise, check freshness, inform customers of specials, and maintain a clean, welcoming area.

Qualifications

• Must be able to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products in the department and store.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold in the department and respond to questions and make suggestions.
• Recommend grocery items to customers and inform them of specials.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell-by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise and provide fresh products ordered.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines; maintain proper temperatures.
• Ensure safety procedures and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Inspect equipment and report any repairs needed.
• Notify management of accidents and report safety risks or fraud.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without accommodations.
