Job summary

The Kroger Co. in Los Angeles is seeking a Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger to deliver outstanding customer service at checkout and help keep the store clean and organized.

You will bag groceries, assist customers, restock, and follow safety guidelines while promoting the store's values. This is a part-time role with opportunities for growth and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Retail experience is preferred but not necessary.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger bag groceries at checkout for customers.
• Aim to bag at least five items while avoiding damage.
• Follow bagging practices for reusable/plastic/paper bags.
• Assist in removing merchandise from bottom of bascart for checkout.
• Offer to help customers load bags into their car.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Return merchandise to store shelves.
• Gather bascarts and return them to designated areas.
• Clean spills, collect trash inside store and parking lot.
• Clean all areas inside and outside of store.
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
• Understand store layout, locate products and conduct price checks.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Inspect equipment and report needed repairs.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and valued.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments.
• Manage conflict in a nonconfrontational and cooperative manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer data.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
• Provide support through interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
