Job Summary: Grocery Clerks are responsible for ensuring the grocery section of the store is well-stocked for our customers. They must assist in receiving, storing, and stocking products while guaranteeing proper product rotation and quality. Familiarity with store products and their locations is essential to assist customers effectively. As a PFM team member, they should exemplify Pete's Four Pillars of Value: Aesthetic, Quality, and Customer Service.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to all guests.
• Meet and often exceed company service standards.
• Effectively use scan guns and stock grocery shelves.
• Rotate products, monitor expiration dates, stock and face products, build displays, and handle damages and credits per company policy.
• Complete stocking and clean-up duties efficiently and promptly.
• Assist with store operations like cleaning or hanging signs as needed.
• Support back-stock activities and ensure timely return of items.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Certifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. with 0-3 years of retail or grocery experience.
• Valid and current Food Handler’s Certificate.
• Knowledge of department functions.

Other Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Effective communication skills with customers, leadership, and team members.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, able to work independently or in groups.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

• Ability to stand for long periods, bend, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push/pull up to 100 lbs., lift/move loads up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lift 75 lbs.
• Work in coolers and freezers with temperature changes.
• Handle high-stress situations involving systems, customers, or staff.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Reliable transportation required.
