Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the Point of Sale system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
• Rotate all merchandise according to code dating policies and check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell-by dates and take appropriate action.
• Promote trust and respect among team members.
• Create a welcoming environment by answering questions about products sold and assisting customers.
• Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer inquiries and suggestions.
• Greet, engage, and assist customers; inform them of grocery specials.
• Order, label, stock, and inventory merchandise; report discrepancies to management.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and safety guidelines, including restricted sale items.
• Stay current with promotions and adhere to food safety regulations, maintaining proper temperatures and logs.
• Practice safety procedures, inspect equipment, and report unsafe conditions or accidents.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and climbing as required.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment, managing conflicts professionally and acting with honesty and integrity.
• Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
