Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the Point of Sale system, handling various tenders and checkout procedures according to company policy.
• Rotate all merchandise according to code dating policies, check product quality, review sell-by dates, and take appropriate action.
• Promote trust and respect among team members.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products and making suggestions.
• Maintain knowledge of products sold and inform customers of specials.
• Order, label, stock, and inventory merchandise; report discrepancies to management.
• Follow guidelines on cash handling, restricted sale items, and food safety regulations.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain temperature logs.
• Practice safety procedures, inspect equipment, and report unsafe conditions or accidents.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and climbing, with the ability to work in a high-paced environment.
• Manage conflicts professionally and act with honesty and integrity.
• Support and assist diverse customer needs, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Basic math knowledge
• Ability to complete cashier training and memorize produce and sale items
• Effective communication and reading skills
• Must be 18 years or older

Desired Experience

• Customer service and retail experience preferred
