Job summary

El Super #36 Salinas is seeking a Grocery Clerk to provide friendly, courteous service and maintain display areas. Under direct supervision, you will assist customers, stock and rotate self‑serve displays, and help keep the store clean.

The position supports a fast‑paced grocery environment and requires the ability to lift heavy items, including nights and weekends. The job welcomes candidates aged 16–17 and offers an hourly starting rate of $17.00 with benefits typical of a store operations

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one‑to‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
• Basic PC/Outlook skills
• Retail Management Certificate

Responsibilities
