Job summary

El Super in San Diego is hiring a Grocery Clerk for store #51. Starting rate is $17.75 per hour and applicants should be able to lift up to 60 pounds and work nights and weekends.

Under direct supervision of the Grocery Manager, you will assist customers, stock and rotate displays, clean cases and shelves, and provide friendly service. This position is open to ages 16–17 and is part of our store operations team; El Super supports equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Present information in one-on-one and small groups to customers and employees.
• Apply common sense to carry out written or oral instructions.
• Lift up to 25 lbs regularly, up to 45 lbs frequently, and up to 60 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and provide friendly service.
• Clean display cases and shelves.
• Clean, fill and rotate self-serve displays.
• Work a variety of hours including nights and weekends.
• Perform heavy lifting, bending and stooping as needed.
