Job summary

El Super is hiring a Grocery Clerk for the Paramount location. Under direct supervision of the Grocery Manager, you will provide friendly service, assist customers, and maintain displays. The role requires lifting up to 60 pounds and willingness to work nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.

• Regularly perform heavy lifting as required.

Responsibilities

Candidates should possess the ability to:

• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision of the Grocery Manager, the Grocery Clerk will provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service. This position will assist customers, clean display cases, and clean shelves. They will also clean, fill, and rotate the self‑serve displays. Must be able to work a variety of hours including nights and weekends. Must be able to perform heavy lifting, bending, and stooping for long periods of time.

The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking, and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
