Job summary

El Super in Riverside is hiring a Grocery Clerk (#57) to deliver friendly, helpful service. Under direct supervision of the Grocery Manager, you’ll assist customers, stock shelves, clean display cases, and maintain self-serve areas; ages 16–17 encouraged to apply. Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and work evenings and weekends is required.

Starting rate is 16.90 per hour. Store location: 5800 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA 92503, United States.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and coworkers.
• Apply common sense to carry out written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift up to 60 pounds (up to 60 lbs) and move heavy items as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with friendly service and guidance.
• Clean display cases and shelves; maintain self-serve displays.
• Manage stock and replenish as needed.
• Support Grocery Manager and work varied hours including nights and weekends.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision of the Grocery Manager, the Grocery Clerk will provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service. This position will assist customers, clean display cases, and clean shelves. They will also clean, fill and rotate the self serve displays. Must be able to work a variety of hours including nights and weekends. Must be able to perform heavy lifting, bending and stooping for long periods of time.

The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
