Job summary

El Super is seeking a Grocery Clerk at store #68 in Bell Gardens. Under supervision of the Grocery Manager, you will assist customers, keep displays neat, rotate self-serve selections, and help with stocking while handling lifting duties. Flexibility for nights and weekends is required for this fast-paced role.

The position is part of the El Super team under the Chedraui USA umbrella, with benefits including 401(k) and continuing education opportunities. Starting rate: $16.90 per hour.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Present information clearly in one-on-one or small group settings to customers and coworkers.
• Able to lift up to 60 pounds occasionally.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision of the Grocery Manager, the Grocery Clerk will provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service. This position will assist customers, clean display cases, and clean shelves. They will also clean, fill and rotate the self‑serve displays. Must be able to work a variety of hours including nights and weekends and perform heavy lifting, bending and stooping for long periods of time. The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
