Job summary

El Super is hiring a Grocery Clerk at the Paramount (#21) location. The role involves assisting customers, cleaning display cases and shelves, and rotating self-serve displays. You must be able to work nights and weekends and perform heavy lifting as part of a fast-paced grocery team.

Starting rate is $16.90 per hour. Candidates aged 16-17 are eligible for the position. Training and on-site support are provided by the Grocery Manager and store team.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags, and short memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information to customers and colleagues.
• Regularly lift and move up to 25 lbs, up to 45 lbs, and up to 60 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, courteous service under direct supervision of the Grocery Manager.
• Assist customers and maintain clean display cases and shelves.
• Clean and rotate self-serve displays and keep work areas tidy.
• Work a variety of hours including nights and weekends.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision of the Grocery Manager, the Grocery Clerk will provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service. This position will assist customers, clean display cases, and clean shelves. They will also clean, fill and rotate the self‑serve displays. Must be able to work a variety of hours including nights and weekends. Must be able to perform heavy lifting, bending and stooping for long periods of time.

The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
