Key Responsibilities:
  • Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery products to meet their needs.
  • Check product quality, review 'sell by' dates, and take appropriate actions.
  • Provide customers with ordered grocery items, ensuring freshness and quality.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
  • Stay current with ads and promotions.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, keeping logs as required.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of products to assist and make suggestions to customers.
  • Create a welcoming environment where customers feel valued and appreciated.
  • Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
  • Practice preventive maintenance and report equipment issues.
  • Notify management of accidents involving customers or employees.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts in a reasonable and cooperative manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodations.
