Responsibilities include:
- Inform customers about food specials and recommend grocery items to meet their needs.
- Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
- Provide customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to the department manager.
- Stay current with advertisements, seasonal, and special offers.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures and logs.
- Maintain knowledge of products and assist customers with questions and suggestions.
- Create a welcoming environment, making customers feel valued and appreciated.
- Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
- Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
- Notify management of accidents involving customers or employees.
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts professionally and respectfully.
- Handle customer and business information with honesty and integrity.
- Follow directions and seek help as needed to resolve issues.
- Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
