Responsibilities include:
- Informing customers of food specials and recommending grocery items to meet their needs.
- Checking product quality for freshness and reviewing 'sell by' dates.
- Providing customers with ordered products, both fresh and non-perishable.
- Labeling, stocking, and inventory management within the department.
- Reporting discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the manager.
- Staying current with ads and promotions.
- Adhering to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Maintaining proper temperatures in cases and coolers, with logs.
- Gaining knowledge of products and responding to customer questions and suggestions.
- Creating a welcoming environment for customers, making them feel valued and appreciated.
- Reinforcing safety programs and reporting unsafe conditions.
- Practicing preventive maintenance and reporting repair needs.
- Reporting customer or employee accidents.
- Working cooperatively in a high-paced, stressful environment.
- Managing conflicts in a nonconfrontational manner.
- Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Following directions and seeking help when needed to resolve issues.
