Responsibilities:
  • Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to meet their needs.
  • Check product quality for freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
  • Provide customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
  • Stay updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and promotional ads.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and keep temperature logs.
  • Develop knowledge of products sold and respond to customer questions with suggestions.
  • Create a welcoming environment that makes customers feel valued by answering questions and providing assistance.
  • Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
  • Participate in preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs.
  • Report customer or employee accidents to management.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts in a reasonable and cooperative manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist diverse customer needs, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
