Job summary

Cornell Pump Company is hiring a hands-on Manufacturing Production Worker for our 2nd shift. This role involves grinding, deburring, and inspecting metal parts used in industrial pump systems. You will follow work instructions, use precision tools, and maintain a clean, safe work area on a busy shop floor.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, familiarity with measuring tools, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Respirator use is required and team collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; vocational or technical training preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to wear a respirator during your shift.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual grinding using air-powered hand tools to remove material and meet balance specifications.
  • Follow work instructions from the “work at machine” schedule or production control direction.
  • Interpret and follow shop routers and Non-Conformity Tickets.
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, scales, and tape measures.
  • Inspect finished workpieces to ensure they meet required specifications.
  • Conduct basic machine maintenance, including monitoring and maintaining fluid and oil levels.
  • Report equipment issues or malfunctions promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and debris-free work area.
  • Operate forklifts and other lifting devices as needed.

Cornell Pump Company is hiring a hands-on Manufacturing Production Worker (Grind and Deburr Operator) for our 2nd shift team. This is a physical, shop-floor role working with metal parts used in industrial pump systems.
