Job summary

American Hydro in York, PA, seeks a Helper to support fabricators and welders in grinding radii, masking parts for blasting and painting, and performing general labor as needed. The role requires reading blueprints, operating cranes, and maintaining a safe, efficient work area.

Ideal candidates may assist in setups, follow instructions, and demonstrate basic blueprint reading while maintaining high safety and workmanship standards in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• Strong communication and mathematical skills are required.
• Ability to follow written or oral instructions and to work safely in a mechanical environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate main crane, jib crane and forklifts to move and position components for optimum grinding performance.
• Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.
• Keep Supervisor informed of problems regarding assigned task, schedule, safety, etc.
• Perform final upgrade grinding on runner to crown/band weld radii.
• Perform final upgrade grinding wicket gate final blending.
• Observes safety and security procedures and reports unsafe conditions.
