Job summary

American Hydro in York, PA seeks a Fabricator II to layout and assemble flat and formed plate components from engineering drawings, with minimal supervision. The role involves tack welding, setting up fabrication components, and grinding parts to shape.

You will work in a lean, safety‑driven environment, interpreting procedures, reading micrometers and calipers, and building complex runners, turbine assemblies, and pump components with a team.

Qualifications

• Detail oriented and able to problem solve.
• Able to work in teams and independently.
• Proficient in blueprint reading.
• Follow safety procedures.
• Assemble complex runners with direction from a Fabricator I.
• Assemble complex shaft-to-runner installations.
• Assemble Kaplan turbine assemblies.
• Assemble pump assemblies.
• Set up work cells for efficient operations.
• Perform hot and cold forming operations such as buckets.
• Generate Lean continuous improvement ideas.
• Vent check runners and pumps with assistance and direction from Fabricator I.
• Operate main cranes and pumps with assistance and direction from Fabricator I.
• Read and interpret instructions and work orders.

Responsibilities

• Interpret instructions, prints, and work orders for the job.
• Read and record measurements with micrometers and calipers.
• Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.
• Keep supervisor informed of problems regarding work piece, schedule, safety, etc.
