Job summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking a Cook to support our restaurant team. The role involves preparing and presenting quality food to guests at our travel centers, contributing to a welcoming, traveler-friendly dining experience.

You will perform prep and grill tasks, follow line checks, complete temperature and prep sheets, and ensure safe food handling and waste control. The position requires teamwork, strong communication, and the ability to adapt to guest needs.

Qualifications

• Team-oriented and able to work with others
• Willing to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and some holidays
• Knowledge of safe food handling practices.

Responsibilities

• Work in a fun, trusting environment focused on great customer service
• Perform prep cook tasks such as washing, chopping, and sorting ingredients
• Perform grill cook tasks, set up broiler, fryer and grill stations according to line check sheets; prepare products to guest specifications
• Complete prep, freezer pull and temperature checklist sheets
• Practice safe food handling and storage as well as waste control procedures; follow safety guidelines and report unsafe situations
• Prioritize work according to restaurant and guest needs
• Build strong communication with leaders and co-workers
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
