Job summary

Low Tide Steakhouse in Surf City is seeking full-time and part-time skilled grill and line cooks to join our staff. We pride ourselves in delivering quality food and a positive team-oriented atmosphere.

As a grill cook or line cook, you will grill premium steaks, chicken, pork and seafood, assist with prep, and help maintain inventory. Evening and weekend availability, strong teamwork, and attention to detail are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous restaurant experience, preferably as a cook or educational background in culinary.
• Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Strong communication skills.
• Availability to work evening and weekend shifts.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of and willingness to embrace important food health and safety guidelines.
• Willingness to continue learning and improving your craft.
• Be able to lift 30+ lbs. and stand for 8+ hours.

Responsibilities

• Grill premium steaks, chicken, pork and seafood with a high degree of skill.
• Assist in maintaining inventory by tracking, labeling, and replacing key ingredients.
• Preparing meats including cleaning and cutting prime cuts of meat, along with other food prep as needed.
• Communicate with the team and wait staff to ensure the timely delivery of all meals.
• Follow all relevant food health and safety guidelines.
• Maintain a workstation that is both clean and sanitary.
• Communicate with the restaurant manager about any kitchen supplies and upgrades that are needed.
• As a team member grill and line cooks may have the opportunity to work the whole cook line as well as the expeditor role.
• Arrives to work on time and as scheduled.
• Closes the kitchen properly and follows closing checklist and assists others with closing the kitchen.
