Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in California is seeking a part-time cook to join our hospital food service team. Under supervision, you will prepare grill/BBQ and fryer items, maintain sanitation, and follow HACCP procedures to ensure safe, high-quality meals for patients and staff.

You will follow department procedures, work on standard equipment, and help keep work areas clean and stocked. Weekend shifts are included, with English instruction and teamwork emphasized.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six months cooks experience in a restaurant, hospital or institutional food service.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions in English.
• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Upholds Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities, and applicable state, federal and local laws.
• Observes appropriate food handling techniques according to hygiene standards in accordance with local, state, and federal agencies.
• Maintains grill, filters, and oils, including cleaning interior and exterior of grill reservoir.
• Prepares food to order on/in the grill, BBQ and/or fryer following department safety and sanitation and HACCP.
• Cleans and decontaminates patient care and work area stations, sanitizes cooking utensils, and disposal.
• May perform other duties as required.
• Establishes and maintains courteous and cooperative relations with members, staff and co-workers.
