Job summary

Goode Company in Houston, TX is seeking a Grill Cook to operate a focused kitchen station with speed and consistency. You will manage grill zones, cook proteins and vegetables to standards, and work with the line and service team to ensure timely, quality plates.

Responsibilities include reading tickets, maintaining station cleanliness, and upholding food-safety controls, while adapting to a fast-paced environment and varied schedule.

Qualifications

• Grill cook or high-volume kitchen experience preferred.
• Knowledge of station organization, cooking technique, timing and sanitation.
• Ability to follow recipes, stay composed under pressure, and communicate with the team.
• Food Handler Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Set up, stock, and maintain the assigned station for efficient service.
• Manage grill temperature zones and cook proteins and vegetables to requested doneness and recipe standards.
• Prepare and cook menu items to recipe, portion, temperature, timing, and presentation standards.
• Read tickets and coordinate timing and communication with the line, expo, and service team.
• Monitor product quality, pars, rotation, waste, and food-safety controls.
• Use kitchen tools and commercial equipment safely and report maintenance concerns.
• Complete opening, cleaning, breakdown, labeling, and closing work thoroughly.
