Responsibilities

• Cost effectively prepare and cook short order, roast carving, and display cooking for patients, employees, and visitors.
• Ensure safe, sanitary food preparation in compliance with NewYork State Sanitary Code.
• Maintain quality, appearance, and proper portioning of cafeteria food.

Education and Credentials

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Experience

• One (1) year of quantity food production training and four (4) years experience in hospital food service, OR
• Two (2) years of quantity cooking and two (2) years of hospital food service experience.
• Ability to cope with peak production and service times requiring speed and concentration.

Working Conditions

• Department: OGH Food and Nutrition.
• Standard Hours: Bi‑weekly: 75.00.
• Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Rotating Weekend.
• Work Hours: 6:00am‑2:00pm, 10:00am‑6:00pm.
• On‑site work arrangement.
• No call on duty.
• Union: Non‑union (Code N35).

Salary

Bi‑weekly salary range: $16.00 – $20.63. Wage adjusted per experience, qualifications, internal equity, and collective bargaining agreement.
