Job summary

Xcel Energy is offering an internship in distribution planning based out of Lubbock, Texas, focusing on Texas and New Mexico. The internship, beginning May 24, 2027, provides hands-on experience supporting distribution planners and may extend beyond the initial term based on performance and business needs.

The role requires in-person commuting to the designated work location within a hybrid policy. Eligible applicants are current students at ABET-accredited programs in Electrical Engineering,

Qualifications

• Current student, Sophomore or higher
• Enrolled in an ABET accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) or part time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week) and commuting to the designated work location in-person, per our hybrid work policy.
