Job summary

Georgia System Operations Corporation (GSOC) is seeking an Operations Planning and Analytics Engineer II-IV to develop analytics products, automated workflows, and applications supporting grid planning and operations.

The role advances from contributing to established solutions at Level II to owning complex workflows and projects at Level IV, with onsite work and no visa sponsorship. You will work with teams across Operations Planning to improve forecasting, dispatch, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical background.
• For Level II: 2+ years of relevant experience.
• For Level III: 4+ years of relevant experience.
• For Level IV: 6+ years with progressive ownership.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for analytical solutions.
• Experience with cloud data platforms and data visualization tools.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methods.
• Knowledge of power-system operations concepts or related expertise.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support analytical solutions for solar/load forecasting and economic dispatch.
• Develop data workflows, Python applications, SQL models, and reporting.
• Apply version control, testing, documentation, and deployment practices.
• Monitor workflows for accuracy and performance; troubleshoot issues.
• Automate workflows and reduce manual effort through modernization.
• Document data lineage and support regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to define requirements and deliver analytics.
• Translate complex results for technical and business audiences.
• Evaluate third-party software and contribute to vendor interactions.
