Georgia System Operations Corporation (GSOC) is seeking an Operations Planning and Analytics Engineer II-IV to develop analytical products, automated workflows, and applications that support Operations Planning. The role contributes to economic dispatch, production cost modeling, load and renewable forecasting, transmission analysis, and resource adequacy studies for GSOC and its Member cooperatives.
This is a hands‑on engineering and analytics opportunity for candidates who enjoy solving complex operational problems with data, software, and power‑system knowledge. Depending on level, the position will grow from contributing to established analytical solutions to independently owning complex workflows, applications, and technical projects.
As an Operations Planning and Analytics Engineer II-IV, you will help build, operate, and continuously improve analytical solutions that support grid planning and operational decision‑making.
You will:
Working at GSOC means more than just a job--it's an opportunity to apply engineering, analytics, and application‑development skills to real operational and planning challenges.
Work on forecasting, economic dispatch, transmission analysis, production cost modeling, resource adequacy, and other analytical products used by Operations Planning.
Progress from contributing to established solutions at Level II to broader technical ownership at Levels III and IV, with increasing responsibility for complex analytical work.
Work with Python, SQL, cloud data platforms, automation, and emerging approaches such as machine learning and AI‑assisted development.
Partner with Operations Engineering, Transmission Planning, Member Services, Information Technology, Control Center staff, and other stakeholders on solutions that support operational needs.
This position supports Operations Planning in a collaborative professional environment. Work may involve coordination with technical teams, GSOC Member cooperatives, Oglethorpe Power Corporation, Georgia Transmission Corporation, vendors, and industry groups as business needs require. GSOC offers opportunities for continuous technical learning and professional growth as analytics platforms, applications, and Operations Planning capabilities evolve.
At GSOC, you can combine engineering, data, software development, and power‑system analytics to build solutions with direct operational value. The Level II‑IV structure provides room to grow technical depth, solution ownership, and influence as experience expands.
