Job summary

SRP in Arizona seeks a First Line Leader for System Operators and Power Dispatchers to oversee the real-time transmission operation and Balancing Authority Area. You will provide control room oversight, drive reliability improvements, and coordinate across SRP teams during outages and events.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 7+ years in grid operations; a NERC Coordination Certification is required within one year. Hybrid work is available, with responsibility to live in Arizona.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience; 11 years alternative.
• NERC Reliability Coordination Certification within one year.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in achieving the safe, reliable and efficient operation of SRP’s transmission system, Balancing Authority Area, and the Energy Imbalance Market.
• Provide overall control room oversight and management support during major system events and emergencies.
• Communicate with direct reports and management on operating issues; collaborate to improve tools for situational awareness and reliability.
• Identify and implement improvements to system operation in collaboration with Grid Operation Supervisors; ensure compliance with standards and policies.
• Support operator training by developing, instructing, and administering training programs.
• Develop and approve Operating Practices; represent department in inter-department meetings.
• Lead projects and initiatives; oversee EMS development and ensure readiness of control centers.
• Schedule personnel to maintain staffing and manage overtime; review outages and engineering reports.
