Job summary

AES Indiana is seeking a Grid Coordinator in Indianapolis to oversee real-time distribution operations, switching, and contingency planning. You will coordinate with the Transmission Control Center and Distribution Operations to ensure safe, reliable service and compliance with regulatory standards.

The role leads field personnel, monitors system conditions, and prepares reports while helping forecast budgets.

Qualifications

High school graduate with electrical and mechanical aptitude.
Available for all System Operations shifts (24-7).
Ability to pass NERC Certification within 6 months.
Accredited post secondary education in an engineering or technology related field.
Current NERC Certification.
Electric Utility experience in transmission and/or distribution operations.
Computer proficiency and strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in English.
Ability to work in a real-time operations environment and as a team member.

Responsibilities

Direct and supervise grid operation switching and distribution tasks.
Coordinate with Transmission Control Center and Distribution Operations Control Center.
Maintain grid operation logs, reports, and performance metrics.
Forecast operation and maintenance budgets and monitor expenses.
Respond to emergencies, coordinate with field personnel, and ensure safety.
