Job summary

AES Indiana seeks a Grid Coordinator within Grid Operations for the Indianapolis Distribution area. Under general guidance, you will supervise and train staff, provide technical advice, and manage budgets to ensure reliable electric service.

You will direct switching operations, ensure compliance with NERC, FERC, RFC, IURC and MISO, and coordinate with Transmission Control Center during normal and emergency operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and strong electrical/mechanical aptitude.
• Able to work all System Operations shifts (24-7).
• Must obtain/maintain NERC Certification within 6 months.
• Experience in electric utility operations is preferred.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise daily Grid Operations activities and training.
• Coordinate switching with control centers to maintain service.
• Develop budgets and monitor costs for reliability and efficiency.
• Direct field personnel during normal and emergency conditions.
• Ensure compliance with NERC, FERC, RFC, IURC and MISO requirements.
