Job summary
TransGrid Energy in Houston, TX is seeking an Interconnection Engineer to lead grid interconnection activities for utility-scale BESS, solar PV, and hybrid projects. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of interconnection or power systems experience.
- Deep understanding of ISO/RTO processes and utility tariffs.
- Experience with CAISO a plus.
- Experience with large load interconnections (data centers).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Project Engineering technical lead for grid interconnection requirements on assigned projects.
- Translate IA, GIA, utility, ISO/RTO, and transmission-owner requirements into project engineering requirements.
- Develop interconnection strategies across projects.
- Manage interconnection applications, studies, and agreements.
- Interface with utilities and ISOs/RTOs.
- Track milestones, timelines, and upgrade costs.
- Identify and mitigate interconnection risks.
- Maintain interconnection positions through COD.
- Track technical issues through resolution.
