Job summary

ACCIONA Energía seeks a Control Center Back Office Manager to join the System Operations Center in Chicago. Lead control-center procedures, coordinate outages, and ensure compliance with grid codes across ERCOT, PJM and MISO.

You will analyze congestion, support SCADA, and drive safety training while partnering with Regulatory Compliance. Your background includes 5+ years in utility operations, with strong ISO/SCADA knowledge and travel flexibility; Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor's in electrical engineering or related field; PE is a plus.
Minimum 5 years in utility, control center, or renewable generation operations.
Familiarity with grid operations, ISO protocols, and SCADA systems.

Responsibilities

Design and refine procedures, tools, and systems for the control center.
Coordinate grid outages, switching procedures, and ISO interactions with internal and external partners.
Monitor changes in grid code requirements from ERCOT, PJM, MISO and participate in technical committees.
Develop strategy to comply with grid code requirements; lead studies and power system modeling using PSCAD and related tools.
Analyze power flow to mitigate curtailment and congestion.
Monitor facility performance.
Develop and support SCADA systems and communications infrastructure.
Champion safety and training.
Represent ACCIONA Energía at industry events and act as internal advisor on best practices.
