Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a candidate for the Grid Code Compliance team to analyze and validate generator interactions with the electrical grid. You will develop models, conduct testing at power plants, and communicate results to customers.

This role involves significant collaboration with engineers and travel to customer sites. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in power engineering, up to 2 years of related experience, and eligibility to work in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electric Power Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• 0–2 years of experience in Engineering and/or Product Management in the Power Generation industry.
• Legal authorization to work in the US; no sponsorship for Bachelor’s level.
• Willingness to travel 25% domestically and internationally.
• Advanced Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Electric Power Engineering.
• Experience with PSLF, PSS/E, PSCAD, MATLAB.

Responsibilities

• Support and execute engineering studies involving generator and governor performance, controls, and grid requirements.
• Develop, verify, and validate electrical load flow and dynamic models used to represent generating facilities.
• Support testing and data collection at power plants.
• Analyze test and simulation results to identify discrepancies and refine models.
• Develop engineering calculations, reports, presentations, and technical documents.
• Work with experienced engineers to troubleshoot technical problems and develop solutions.
• Travel to customer sites when required.
