Job summary

Solar One in New York City seeks an Instructor for its Green Workforce program to deliver hands-on energy efficiency, renewables and building trades training. The role starts with co-teaching with current staff and progresses to leading workforce development programs for adults, with classes in our classrooms and labs and offsite at partner sites across NYC and parts of New Jersey.

Qualifications

• 3+ years field and/or teaching experience in two or more areas: green construction, green building operations & maintenance, solar PV installation, or HVAC maintenance/repair.
• Strong ability to learn new curriculum independently and stay current with tech trends.
• Broad clean energy sector knowledge with 8+ years in two or more areas listed above.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Solar One training programs to workforce development clients, including green construction, building operations, solar PV, and HVAC.
• Co-teach and eventually lead workforce development programs for adults.
• Travel to offsite locations in NY/NJ and collaborate with partner sites.
• Track attendance, grades, and feedback in Salesforce; maintain program records.
