Job summary

The Boston Foundation seeks a Program Associate to work with the Director, Grassroots Programs and advance grantmaking and change-making activities in the Grassroots cross strategy area. The role supports research, convenings, events and administrative tasks central to community impact.

Candidates should have 3–5 years of professional experience, a bachelor’s degree, and strong written/verbal communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3–5 years professional work experience.
• Knowledge of Grassroots area nonprofits and leaders is strongly preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects; organize and coordinate projects with multiple components.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Microsoft Office products; Excel and PowerPoint required.

Responsibilities

• Support Program Director in developing, implementing and evaluating Grassroots strategies and investments.
• Coordinate activities for multiple grantmaking initiatives, including strategy, logistics, communications and evaluation.
• Prepare written materials such as correspondence, meeting minutes, talking points, updates and reports.
• Assist in tracking and reporting on grantmaking activities and collaborations.
• Conduct basic research for strategy papers and memos and assist with board meeting materials.
• Maintain program area impact and goals under guidance of the Program Director.
• Serve as liaison to internal and external partners for events and initiatives.
• Coordinate meetings and events, including attendee schedules and notes.
