The Boston Foundation is seeking a Development Associate to support fundraising efforts for BEF and other partnerships. The role emphasizes prospect research, meeting coordination, donor communications and data management.

The position requires a college degree and at least 3 years of grant writing or prospect research experience, with strong writing, organizational and analytic skills. Collaboration with leadership and events support are part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years work experience, grant writing and/or prospect research experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong customer service orientation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Salesforce experience strongly preferred; familiarity with social media.

Responsibilities

• Execute prospect research to qualify prospects for cultivation and solicitation.
• Prepare staff and leadership for prospect meetings with funders including briefing materials and meeting logistics.
• Maintain donor and fund records in Salesforce; ensure timely entry of activities.
• Coordinate grant writing and reporting for BEF and other partnership efforts.
• Field inquiries from prospects/donors via phone, email and correspondence.
• Draft general correspondence and development packets; maintain fundraising files.
