Job description

CRAFT MEETS COMFORT. At Resident, we believe your living space shouldn’t just look good, it should feel good. That’s why we’ve created a house of brands that focuses on quality materials, timeless style, and most importantly, comfort. Our current brands include the award-winning Nectar, DreamCloud, Awara, and Siena products and we continue to invest in new categories to broaden our offering and address our customer's needs.

Since our inception in 2017, Resident has become one of the fastest-growing, scaled, and profitable omnichannel retailers in North America. We are a disruptor in the broader home furnishings category underpinned by deep and proven expertise in data science & analytics, performance marketing, and e-commerce technology. As our business continues to grow, we are focused on building world-class retail, finance, operations, logistics, data science, performance marketing, and customer success-driven teams that thrive in a modern work environment.

At Resident, our staff is dedicated to the values of Excellence, Customer Love, Big Thinking, Inclusivity, and Forward Momentum.

This is a fully remote position. To be considered for this opportunity you must reside within and have the right to work in the United States.

About the Role:

Resident is seeking a talented Graphic Designer to join our in-house Brand Design team. Reporting to the Senior Designer and collaborating closely with our Growth and Creative teams, you will play a key role in bringing our brand to life across a wide range of creative touchpoints.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for producing high-quality designs across multiple formats—including static and video ads, web pages, Amazon ads, and other digital assets. You may also support occasional projects related to packaging or print, depending on team needs. You'll partner with the Senior Designer to conceptualize new ideas, evolve existing systems, and help elevate the visual identity of all Resident brands with a strong focus on aesthetics and consistency.

What You’ll be Doing:

  • Create and deliver high-quality, original design solutions that reflect strategic thinking, creative excellence, and brand alignment.
  • Balance creativity, speed, and impact to produce innovative work that meets both aesthetic and business goals.
  • Conceptualize and execute original visual designs that require invention, imagination, or talent, including brand identity systems, advertising campaigns, and unique layout compositions.
  • Develop design solutions independently using judgment to select visual elements, styles, and approaches that align with strategic marketing or brand goals.
  • Independently manage the full design process—from concept to final execution—for assigned projects, exercising creative judgment with minimal supervision or prescribed procedures.
  • Help define and elevate the creative direction across all Resident brands
  • Develop visually cohesive designs that align with existing brand guidelines
  • Interpret project briefs, generate fresh ideas, and support design needs across multiple teams
  • Stay current on design trends, tools, and best practices to continuously elevate our creative output
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners including Growth, Retail, and Operations teams
  • Effectively communicate design principles and provide guidance to non-designers
  • Take concepts from rough sketches to polished, production-ready designs

Skills/Qualifications:

  • 2–5 years of professional design experience
  • A portfolio that reflects versatility, originality, and strong creative thinking
  • Proficiency in Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.), required
  • A Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design, preferred
  • Excellent visual design skills with a strong grasp of typography and composition
  • Confident working with stakeholders to translate ideas into impactful designs
  • A collaborative mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving

What We Offer (subject to eligibility requirements):

  • Remote-first workplace (since 2016!)
  • HSA company contributions
  • 401K with company match component
  • “Take what you need” PTO
  • Wellness benefits
  • WFH office and cell phone/internet stipend
  • A FREE MATTRESS plus an awesome Friends and Family discount!
