Job summary

Athene is seeking a Graphic Design Intern to join its Marketing team and learn how the Creative Services function operates from concept through production. You will gain exposure to brand standards, design systems, and marketing disciplines across print, digital, and video projects.

The role supports multi-channel campaigns and offers opportunities to collaborate with interns and professionals while developing a portfolio and professional skills in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Graphic Design or related field.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud apps (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Portfolio of design work demonstrating creativity.
• Creative problem-solver with attention to detail.
• Strong collaboration and written/verbal communication.
• Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Learn how Athene’s Creative Services designs and maintains brand materials.
• Support print, digital, logos, branding, ads, and social content.
• Assist with presenting materials in PowerPoint and proofing for brand consistency.
• Apply Athene brand usage standards across deliverables.
• Prepare files for print and ADA-compliant collateral.
• Gain exposure to video/photography production and basic editing.

Internships will run from mid-May to early August

Interviews and hiring decisions expect to be completed prior to mid-November, with some being completed as early as late September. Qualified candidates must be enrolled at an accredited college or university for Fall term 2027.

As a Graphic Design intern for Athene's Marketing team, you will have the opportunity to learn how Athene's Creative Services function operates from concept through production, while gaining exposure to the brand standards, design systems, and marketing disciplines that support Athene's retail distribution channel. Athene's retail distribution channel serves customers in all 50 states, providing products in the retirement savings market. The ideal candidate will have a passion for visual storytelling and design, paired with the adaptability to work across print, digital, and video projects. In this role, you will support the Creative Services team's design initiatives and gain exposure to multiple marketing disciplines including brand marketing, content, digital asset management, video and photography, and marketing automation.

Accountabilities:

• Learn how Athene's Creative Services team designs, produces, and maintains brand-consistent marketing materials
• Support design projects spanning print, digital, logos, branding, advertising, promotional items, social content, and merchandise
• Assist with building presentation materials in PowerPoint and proofing materials for accuracy and brand consistency
• Learn Athene's brand and logo usage standards and help apply them across deliverables
• Assist with preparing files for print and/or fabrication, applying ADA-compliant standards to collateral
• Gain exposure to video and photography production, including basic editing, color correction, and animation
• Collaborate with the design team to explore how creative can support marketing promotions and campaigns

Qualifications and Experience:

• Pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Fine Art, or a related field of study
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud - InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro; Premiere or After Effects a plus
• Portfolio of design work demonstrating skills and creativity
• Creative problem-solver who is detail-oriented
• Strong collaborator with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects
