Job summary

Inca Digital, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer for the Research & Development Team to design, build, and scale data products, infrastructure, and investigative tools from the ground up.

You will own core engineering initiatives and work closely with the Head of R&D in a fully remote setting. The role focuses on data infrastructure across APIs, graph analytics, and real-time alerting, with emphasis on provenance, data quality, and robust pipelines.

Qualifications

• Pass a U.S. Tier 3 background check (generally limited to U.S. citizens).
• Proficient in Python.
• Proven experience designing and operating production data infrastructure and pipelines.
• Deep PostgreSQL experience (schema design and query optimization).
• Graph data modeling and network analysis experience (Neo4j/Cypher preferred).
• Production experience deploying and configuring containerized services to AWS.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate end-to-end data infrastructure and solutions for APIs, containerized apps, alerting/reporting, and graph visualizations.
• Model and deploy relational, document, and graph databases.
• Build ETL/ELT pipelines ingesting data from internal DBs, REST APIs, blockchain nodes, and third-party feeds.
• Own data quality, lineage, and reproducibility for enforcement and litigation needs.
• Automate orchestration and deployment via CI/CD (GitHub Actions) into AWS.
• Collaborate with Head of R&D, data scientists, and investigations teams to translate requirements into production software.
• Make and document architecture decisions and evaluate new technology for crypto/security domains.
