Job summary

Lao Family Community Development, Inc. (LFCD) seeks a motivated Grants & Resource Development Fellow to support institutional fundraising, grant development, and outreach across LFCD programs in California.

You will research opportunities, prepare proposals, maintain grant systems, and collaborate with departments to secure funding while advancing LFCD's mission. The Fellow will also contribute to marketing and communications efforts, crafting impact reports, stories, and materials to strengthen

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; graduate study in nonprofit management or related field preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written, editing, and interpersonal communication in English.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading with strong attention to detail.
• Experience in research and strong analytical abilities.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines and work independently.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and community-centered service.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat; familiarity with CRM and online research.
• Experience with grant management systems or related tools is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing competitive grant proposals, RFPs, LOIs, concept papers, and executive summaries for funding opportunities.
• Draft proposal narratives, statements of need, capacity sections, work plans, goals, objectives, and evaluation plans.
• Coordinate collection of attachments: budgets, certifications, letters of support, resumes, and documents.
• Edit, proofread, and format proposal packages for accuracy and compliance.
• Research funding opportunities via databases, portals, and announcements aligned with LFCD priorities.
• Maintain grant calendars, submission schedules, and reporting records with timelines.
• Coordinate proposal development with program managers, finance, leadership, and partners.
• Schedule proposal planning meetings and monitor internal timelines.
• Gather program information, budgets, data, and required documentation.
• Assist with partnership communications and collaborative funding opportunities.
• Support grant reporting, documentation, and closeout activities with staff.
• Develop organizational marketing materials to promote LFCD’s mission and impact.
