Job summary

The California Community Foundation (CCF) is seeking a Client Services Officer in Los Angeles to manage complex grant activities across donor-advised, scholarship, and community funds while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and a high-quality donor experience.

This in-office role requires on-site work for the first 100 days, with staff later allowed two remote days per week and mandatory in-office Tuesdays & Wednesdays.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of four years in foundation/nonprofit/public sector.
  • Experience with technology systems including CRM, data management, grantmaking apps.
  • Experience leading process improvements with efficient workflows.
  • Knowledge of grantmaking regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to analyze and present data via reports and charts.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of standard and complex grants with accuracy and compliance.
  • Serve as a trusted contact for donors, fund advisors, scholars, students, and partners.
  • Oversee due diligence, grant structuring, recipient status reviews, and documentation.
  • Provide SME on grantmaking policies and workflows.
  • Monitor and improve grant operations; optimize processes.
  • Maintain accurate grant data and develop reports for decision-making.
  • Support grants management systems with training, templates, dashboards.
  • Escalate complex donor and grantee matters with professionalism.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and other teams to strengthen operations.
  • Provide training and guidance to colleagues; support cross-functional projects.
  • Analyze information to develop meaningful reports and insights.
  • Represent CCF professionally with stakeholders.
