Job summary

City of Decatur, IL is seeking a Grants Manager to lead the Grants Division, secure and maximize funding, and ensure compliance across the full grant lifecycle. You will work with City departments to identify opportunities, manage applications, budgets, and reporting, ensuring programs meet goals and regulatory requirements.

The role requires strong financial, analytical, and leadership abilities, with a focus on accountability and collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field plus experience in grants administration or accounting.
• 3–5 years in grants administration or related fields.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local policies, grants, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with grant budgets, reporting, and procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Grants Division and oversee full lifecycle of federal, state, and other grant programs.
• Identify funding opportunities aligning with City priorities and advise departments.
• Coordinate grant applications, project scopes, budgets, environmental reviews, and documentation.
• Monitor compliance, reporting, and financials; prepare reports for leadership and council.
