Job summary

Suffolk County Government's Department of Health Services seeks a Grants Coordinator for the Department of Environmental Quality to administer countywide grant programs and oversee processing, contracting, and payment.

You will lead administrative staff, communicate program status publicly, identify bottlenecks, develop performance metrics, and present data-driven proposals for program improvements, with a vision to implement new grant programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of experience in preparing, researching and monitoring grants from state and federal sources.
• Note: Relevant additional education will be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Administer countywide grants for the Department of Environmental Quality.
• Lead a team of administrative staff responsible for processing, issuing, contracting and payment of grants.
• Provide regular public communication regarding program status.
• Identify staffing needs, process improvements, and bottlenecks to maximize grant output.
• Develop program metrics to measure performance.
• Present data-driven proposals for program changes and improvements.
• Maintain a vision to implement new grant programs.
