Job summary

IntermediaryEd is hiring its first Manager, Operations and Grants, a key hire who will help build the systems to deploy grant funds and support the foundation’s operations with rigor from day one. This role is intentionally shaped in two phases, and candidates should be excited by both.

Phase 1 focuses on building infrastructure and scalable processes, with AI integrated into workflows. Phase 2 evolves grants management as the organization grows, expanding into broader operational

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of grants management or related admin/project management in a foundation/nonprofit.
• Thrives in a startup environment with evolving processes.
• Proficiency with GenAI and traditional tech tools, including grants systems.
• Ability to design and manage systems and processes and prioritize multiple projects.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.
• Willingness to experiment, learn quickly, and adapt to changing needs.
• Able to work independently and with small teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; collaborate with leadership.
• Commitment to IntermediaryEd’s mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Design and build processes for administering grants from due diligence to reporting.
• Incorporate AI into the implementation strategy to improve workflows.
• Establish approach to knowledge management as organization grows.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, and Program teams to keep funding processes rigorous and compliant.
• Manage ongoing administration of grants and funding commitments.
• Oversee IT infrastructure and HR administrative workflows.
• Document internal SOPs and workflows for smooth handoffs.
• Collaborate to build and maintain data and analytics reporting.
• Lead or support project management of cross-functional initiatives.
• Handle evolving operational responsibilities including tech, talent, contracts, vendors, and finance.
