Job summary

The Grants Officer at Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina leads grant writing and management to support hunger relief across multiple counties. You will cultivate funder relationships, prepare compelling proposals, track spending and coordinate with program, finance, and communications teams.

Responsibilities include managing 60–75 donors, drafting proposals from $10k–$100k+, and ensuring timely reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; fundraising or grant writing training/certifications preferred.
• At least two years of proposal writing or grant management experience.
• Excellent writing and editing skills; a writing sample may be required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online grant platforms; familiarity with donor databases.
• Must believe in the mission and neighbor-centered approach of the Food Bank.

Responsibilities

• Fundraising: build and manage a portfolio of 60–75 grant funders; write proposals from $10,000 to $100,000+; collaborate across teams to steward funders.
• Grants Management: oversee post-award grant deliverables, reporting, spend-down reviews, and contract/MOU processing.
