Job summary

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain seeks a Grant Writer & Administrator to secure and sustain funding for youth programs across eastern North Carolina. You will lead compelling proposal development, conduct strategic research, and manage post‑award compliance to ensure ongoing funding success.

As the organization’s primary grant writer, you will oversee grants portfolio, reports, and documentation while aligning with the VPGGP and CDO to meet revenue targets and advance the mission.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related field.
• 2+ years of grant writing and administration experience, including federal, state, and local funding.
• Proven success in securing grant awards and supporting revenue goals.
• Experience with public funding streams (e.g., DOE/DOJ/HRSA/OJJDP/21st CCLC).
• Strong writing, editing, research, and analytical skills including budget development.
• Excellent project management and organizational abilities; ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM or grants systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead as the organization’s primary grant writer and grants operations lead.
• Meet annual grant revenue goals in collaboration with leadership.
• Identify new federal, state, local, and private funding opportunities.
• Develop narratives, budgets and supporting materials showing impact.
• Oversee grant reporting, systems, and compliance processes.
• Coordinate post‑award activities including reporting and reimbursements.
• Support audits, desk reviews, and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with programs, finance, and operations to gather required data.
