Job summary

Food Banks Canada is seeking a Program Officer, Grants to support a national capacity granting program across Canada. The role is a 12-month contract, full-time and remote, with salary between $59,535 and $74,419 CAD.

The candidate will work with provincial associations and food banks, ensuring compliance and timely reporting. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop communications, monitor program effectiveness, and coordinate donor reporting.

Qualifications

• Completion of an undergraduate degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in program management at a non-profit.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and exposure to grant software and database systems is an asset.
• Experience developing and executing granting programs funded by the Government of Canada is an asset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and donor reporting experience.
• Strong budgeting skills and financial acumen.
• Strong analytical skills and relationship-building experience.
• Initiative and ability to work with little supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Administer program grants and applications through the grant portal.
• Collaborate with national program managers to implement development plans.
• Develop program communication materials and promote initiatives to stakeholders.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and drive improvements with the programs team.
• Coordinate grant disbursements with the finance team and ensure compliance.
• Work with vendors to develop key program elements and evaluation processes.
• Track contractual obligations with donors and grantees for compliance.
• Prepare reports and donor reporting materials for staff and partners.
• Present grant updates to staff and senior management.
