Job summary

ZACH Theatre in Austin, Texas seeks a Grants Officer to lead our foundation and government fundraising program, managing a portfolio of institutional funders and prospects to secure philanthropic support for artistic, education, and community initiatives.

This role serves as the primary institutional grant writer while building a sustainable pipeline. The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer, organized, curious, and a strong relationship builder across departments.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of grant writing or nonprofit fundraising experience.
• Demonstrated success securing foundation or government funding.
• Experience interpreting program outcomes and presenting impact data to funders.
• Experience developing grant budgets with finance staff.
• Bachelor's degree as listed or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead foundation and government fundraising, managing a portfolio of funders and proposals.
• Write grant proposals and reports communicating Zach's mission, programs, impact and funding priorities.
• Collaborate with Finance and programs to develop budgets and collect outcomes/evaluation data.
• Ensure deadlines for proposals and reports are met with proactive project management.
• Monitor opportunities and trends to identify new sources of support.
• Maintain relationships with funders and develop stewardship strategies.
• Coordinate meetings and site visits with funders; prepare briefing materials for leadership.
