Job summary

The Nebraska Humane Society in Omaha seeks a Grants Manager to lead the planning, writing, and management of proposals from foundations, corporations, and government sources to support unrestricted operating revenue and restricted projects.

You will develop budgets, prepare reports, maintain donor records, and cultivate relationships with institutional funders while collaborating with program staff to ensure proposals meet donor conditions and organizational goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or combination of relevant experience and education.
• Minimum of 5 years experience with grant writing and management.
• Proven track record raising money from foundation/government sources.
• Ability to work in a team, manage multiple deadlines.
• Knowledge of fundraising information sources and institutional donors.
• Experience with proposal writing and grant contracts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals from various sources.
• Write proposals, budgets, reports, and ancillary materials.
• Ensure grant reporting compliance with donors.
• Develop and foster relationships with institutional funders.
• Provide strategic input for development efforts.
• Manage donor stewardship and cultivation of new donors.
• Track grants, produce internal reporting, maintain records.
• Maintain grant tracking in databases and paper files.
• Oversee a large donor portfolio to support the budget.
• Monitor and aim for grant income goals.
