Purpose

The Grants Manager will report to the State Director and will support development and fundraising efforts for CWS offices through management of grant initiatives and foundation and grant‑maker relations as well as monitoring and evaluation processes. This position is key to ensuring that the local offices continue to expand and diversify private funding streams to sustain the mission of welcoming refugees and immigrants to local communities across the state.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties
  • Research public and private grant opportunities for the CWS location.
  • Maintain records of grantmaking history, including successful and failed proposals, and grant‑maker contact information and focus areas.
  • Keep grants calendar up-to-date, including assigning tasks and respective timelines to team members for timely grant preparation and submission.
  • Work with program leadership to craft and submit strong grant proposals to meet fundraising goals.
  • Monitor grant reporting deadlines; coordinate reporting in conjunction with relevant program, leadership and finance staff; complete and submit funder‑required reports.
  • Coordinate federal grant submission processes, working with Office Directors and program leadership to complete their respective pieces of the proposals, compiling and editing all necessary attachments, and submitting to CWS HQ and/or federal funders directly.
  • Liaise with current and new foundation and grant‑making officers and staff to nurture those partnerships and keep them informed as appropriate.
  • Work with program leadership to develop Theories of Change for their respective program areas.
  • Create (where necessary), update, and maintain monitoring and evaluation systems for programs and their respective grant agreements.
  • Assist with general fundraising support as required, such as thank‑you notes to individual donors.
  • Stay informed about refugee and immigrant issues and policy; advocate for refugee and immigrant friendly policies and practices.
  • Represent CWS in meetings and events relevant to the position.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Certifications
  • BA or Equivalent Work Experience.
Experience

Special Requirements
  • Will require reference checks, standard criminal background checks, and motor vehicle background checks.
  • Work varied hours, including occasional nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must have clean driving record, valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle. Mileage accrued while executing work responsibilities is reimbursable by CWS.
  • Must be willing to travel to local CWS offices.
