Qualifications

  • 5+ years of grant writing and grants management experience.
  • Proven success with competitive proposals and grant reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and submit grant proposals and funder reports.
  • Review RFPs and guidelines and interpret requirements.
  • Maintain grants calendar and deadlines for all funders.
  • Manage electronic files for foundation, corporate, United Way, and government funders.
  • Track submissions, awards, and reporting activity in the database.
  • Identify new grant prospects and funding opportunities.
  • Collaborate with program and leadership teams on funding needs and outcomes.
  • Support corporate funding and event sponsorship requests as needed.
  • Draft acknowledgment letters on behalf of leadership.
  • Analyze program and financial data to strengthen applications and reporting.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to develop persuasive funding materials.
  • Provide development and writing support as needed.

Location:680 Murphy Ave, Suite 1090, Atlanta, GA 30310; hybrid 2-3 days onsite
Type:Direct-hire, full-time opportunity
Salary:$67,000-70,000 (+10% bonus)
Position Overview

A mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking an experienced Grants Manager to join its development team. Reporting to the Grants Director, the Grants Manager will play a key role in managing the organization's grant portfolio, developing compelling funding proposals, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting to foundation, corporate, United Way, and government funders.

This position is ideal for a strong writer and relationship builder who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about advancing a meaningful community-focused mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, write, and submit compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and funder reports.
  • Review and interpret Requests for Proposals (RFPs), funding guidelines, and other solicitation requirements.
  • Maintain an accurate grants and reporting calendar to ensure all deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Manage electronic files and documentation for current and prospective foundation, corporate, United Way, and government funders.
  • Track grant submissions, awards, reporting requirements, and solicitation activity within the organization's database.
  • Research and identify new grant prospects and funding opportunities.
  • Work closely with internal program and leadership teams to understand funding needs, program outcomes, and the use of grant funds.
  • Support corporate funding and special event sponsorship requests as needed.
  • Draft acknowledgment letters and other correspondence on behalf of organizational leadership.
  • Review and analyze program and financial data to support grant applications and reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop accurate, timely, and persuasive funding materials.
  • Provide additional development and writing support as needed.

  • A high degree of integrity, initiative, professionalism, and resilience.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Public Affairs, Public Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in grant writing and grants management, with a demonstrated record of success.
  • Proven experience developing competitive grant proposals and managing grant reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using Salesforce or a similar donor/fundraising database preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of foundation, corporate, United Way, and/or government funding processes preferred.
